British Canoe Union Accredited Courses

The BCU's Performance Award Scheme have the Paddlepower scheme for under 16's and the revised Star Award scheme for the over 14's. Both the Beginners and the Improvers canoeing courses will cover the skills and techniques relevant to each scheme with appropriate awards being given when the required level is achieved. A range of open canoes and kayaks will be used. Please feel free to call for further clarification.

Paddlepower Discovery - Improvers Canoeing for Juniors

Aged 11+

This course assumes at least two days structured experience and looks at improving and developing the basic skills as well as introducing additional strokes and new techniques. It also provides a greater theoretical understanding of the sport. Please note that this course is physically more demanding than the beginners course and is suitable for those who are at least 11 years old.
